  • Lipedema is a chronic disorder characterized by the abnormal and disproportionate accumulation of painful subcutaneous adipose fat, primarily affecting the lower limbs and occurring almost exclusively in women. The aim of this controlled cross-sectional study was to compare body image, psychological distress, and psychological well-being in women with (n = 77) and without lipedema (n = 32). Psychological functioning was assessed using validated measures of depressive symptoms (PHQ-9), eating attitudes (EAT-26), perceived stress (PSS), medically unexplained symptoms (M.U.S.), psychological well-being (WHO-5), life satisfaction (SWLS), psychological flexibility (AAQ-II), pain intensity (VAS), together with measures of body image, lifetime psychological burden, maladaptive cognitive beliefs, symptom severity, and anthropometric parameters. Compared with controls, women with lipedema reported significantly greater body image dissatisfaction, perceived distress, M.U.S., depressive symptoms, disordered eating attitudes, and pain, together with lower psychological well-being, life satisfaction, and psychological flexibility (all p < 0.001). Within the lipedema group, PHQ-9 scores were significantly predicted by M.U.S. scores, maladaptive cognitions, and pain intensity (VAS), whereas EAT-26 scores were predicted by PHQ-9 scores and maladaptive cognitions. These findings indicate that lipedema is associated with a substantial psychological burden and support integrating psychological assessment and intervention into multidisciplinary care.

  • Background: Lipedema is a chronic disorder of subcutaneous adipose tissue characterized by symmetrical fat accumulation in the extremities, pain, and orthostatic edema. Objectives: This study aimed to assess whether high-resolution cutaneous ultrasound can detect measurable tissue-level changes in subcutaneous tissue over six months. Methods: A retrospective, single-center, real-world longitudinal observational cohort study was conducted in 60 women with lipedema followed at three timepoints (baseline, 3 months, 6 months). High-resolution ultrasound (18–20 MHz) measured subcutaneous and dermal thickness at standardized anatomical sites. Results: All primary ultrasound parameters decreased significantly over six months of conservative multicomponent management, which included individualized nutritional counseling and physical activity. Medial proximal thigh subcutaneous thickness declined by 18.7% (48.2 to 39.2 mm; p < 0.001). Edema prevalence fell from 100% to 55.0%. Echogenicity improved significantly between 3 and 6 months, suggesting a delayed structural remodelling effect distinct from early volumetric reduction. Ultrasound reductions were inversely correlated with weight loss, suggesting that ultrasound captures tissue-level information not fully reflected by anthropometric measures alone. Conclusions: Standardized cutaneous high-resolution ultrasound detected consistent tissue-level modifications over six months of routine clinical follow-up, capturing changes beyond anthropometric measures and representing a candidate monitoring tool warranting evaluation in controlled study designs.

  • Background: Lipedema is a chronic disorder that predominantly affects women and is characterized by abnormal subcutaneous adipose tissue accumulation, pain, and vascular dysfunction. However, reliable circulating biomarkers that reflect disease-specific pathophysiology are still lacking. This study investigated serum markers associated with adipose tissue, inflammation, and angiogenesis to further elucidate the pathophysiology of lipedema. Methods: In this cross-sectional observational study, fasting serum levels of adiponectin, chemerin, lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP), proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9), soluble CD163 (sCD163), and soluble CD137 (sCD137)—proteins associated with obesity and inflammation—were measured in 23 premenopausal women with lipedema and 23 age-matched healthy premenopausal controls. Serum endostatin levels, an angiogenesis inhibitor, and insulin-like growth factor binding protein 2 (IGFBP2), a potent proangiogenic factor, were also assessed. Results: Patients with lipedema and obese controls had comparable body mass index, glucose, and serum lipid profiles. No significant differences were observed between groups in circulating levels of adiponectin, chemerin, LBP, PCSK9, sCD163, sCD137 and IGFBP2. In contrast, serum endostatin levels were significantly reduced in patients with lipedema (p = 0.038). Additional analyses demonstrated markedly higher endostatin expression in human subcutaneous adipose tissue than in the liver, suggesting that circulating endostatin levels may be related to adipose tissue mass. However, serum endostatin levels were lower in obese compared with normal-weight women (p < 0.001). Conclusion: Lipedema was not associated with altered circulating levels of adiponectin, chemerin, LBP, PCSK9, sCD163, sCD137 or IGFBP2. Reduced serum endostatin levels support a potential role for vascular dysfunction in the pathophysiology of lipedema.

  • Objectives: To examine the associations of ultra-processed food (UPF) consumption, dietary inflammatory index (DII), and Mediterranean diet adherence with pain severity, physical quality of life, body composition, and inflammatory markers in women with lipedema. Methods: This cross-sectional study included women diagnosed with lipedema across different disease stages. Dietary intake was assessed using a validated food frequency questionnaire, and foods were classified according to the NOVA system to determine UPF consumption. The dietary inflammatory index was calculated to assess the inflammatory potential of the diet, and Mediterranean diet adherence was evaluated using a standardized scoring system. Anthropometric measurements, body composition parameters, inflammatory markers, pain intensity (VAS), and physical quality of life (SF-12 PCS) were assessed. Multivariable regression analyses were performed to investigate the associations between dietary variables and clinical outcomes. Results: A total of 86 women with lipedema (stage 1: n=36, stage 2: n=33, stage 3: n=17) were included. UPF consumption increased from 28.1% to 41.3% of total energy and DII scores from +1.46 to +3.02 across stages, while Mediterranean diet adherence decreased from 28.2 to 21.3. In parallel, BMI increased from 27.1 to 31.1 kg/m² and body fat percentage from 36.7% to 41.1%. Inflammatory markers also rose across stages (hs-CRP: 3.9 to 6.1 mg/L; IL-6: 3.1 to 4.6 pg/mL). In multivariable models, higher DII scores were associated with increased pain severity (β=0.29, p=0.007) and higher hs-CRP levels (β=0.41, p<0.001), whereas Mediterranean diet adherence was positively associated with physical quality of life (β=0.34, p=0.002). Conclusion: Higher ultra-processed food consumption and dietary inflammatory potential were associated with increased inflammation, pain, and adiposity, whereas greater Mediterranean diet adherence was associated with better physical quality of life in women with lipedema.

  • BACKGROUND: Lipedema is a chronic and progressive adipose tissue disorder that is often misdiagnosed and notoriously resistant to weight loss. Liposuction remains the most effective surgical treatment, but it requires precise technique to preserve the fragile lymphatic system. This study investigates the utility of pre-, intra- and postoperative ultrasound (US) to objectively assess fat reduction and the selective removal of pathological adipose tissue in patients undergoing liposuction for lipedema. METHODS: A retrospective, single-center study of 24 female patients with lipedema who underwent liposuction of the lower extremities. Perioperative US was used to measure the thickness of the superficial subcutaneous fat (D1) and the deep fat layer (D2) at a standardized anatomical site. Intraoperative US was employed to verify that fat aspiration was performed in the correct superficial plane. A paired t-test was conducted to assess the statistical significance of the change in D1 thickness. RESULTS: The mean patient age was 38 years, with a mean BMI of 25.3 kg/m2. The mean volume of liposuction aspirate was 4.5 L. Statistical analysis showed a significant reduction in mean D1 thickness from 9.9 mm preoperatively to 6.3 mm immediately postoperatively (p < 0,05). This reduction was sustained at the 3-month follow-up, with a mean D1 thickness of 5.8 mm. CONCLUSION: Our pilot study suggests that the perioperative use of ultrasound is a valuable tool for objectively documenting the selective fat reduction achieved with liposuction in lipedema patients. Intraoperative US not only enhances surgical precision, but also reduces the risk of complications by confirming correct cannula positioning in the superficial plane. This technique enhances surgical precision by allowing for the quantifiable removal of pathological superficial fat, confirming its potential to improve outcomes with a low complication rate.   • Background/Objectives: Lipedema is a chronic adipose tissue disorder characterized by disproportionate fat accumulation, pain, microvascular dysfunction, and low-grade inflammation. Although low-carbohydrate, high-fat (LCHF) dietary approaches are increasingly used in clinical practice, their longer-term associations with vascular, lymphatic, and immunometabolic pathways in lipedema remain insufficiently understood. This preliminary exploratory study evaluated clinical outcomes and circulating mediators during a 7-month LCHF dietary intervention. Methods: Twenty-four women with lipedema (median age: 39 years) underwent a 7-month individualized, calorie-restricted LCHF diet under medical supervision. Outcomes included body mass index (BMI), leg volume, and adipose tissue pain assessed using a visual analogue scale (VAS). Fasting serum samples collected at baseline and follow-up were analyzed for angiogenic, inflammatory, endothelial, and lipid mediators using Luminex assays and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Results: The intervention was associated with significant reductions in BMI, leg volume, and adipose tissue pain (p < 0.001). These changes were accompanied by increased vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), vascular endothelial growth factor D (VEGF-D), and angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2), together with decreased pro-inflammatory cytokines and endothelial adhesion molecules. Several endocannabinoid-related lipid mediators, including oleoyl ethanolamide (OEA), arachidonoyl ethanolamide (AEA), and palmitoyl ethanolamide (PEA), also decreased. Baseline OEA and AEA concentrations, as well as reductions in OEA over time, were associated with greater BMI reduction. Change in interleukin-8 (IL-8) showed a nominal association with leg volume reduction, while pain improvement was associated with decreases in P-selectin and VEGF-A and increases in interleukin-13 (IL-13). Conclusions: A 7-month calorie-restricted LCHF dietary intervention in women with lipedema was associated with clinical improvement and changes in circulating vascular, inflammatory, and lipid mediators. These findings reflect systemic changes accompanying the intervention; however, causal relationships and specific mechanisms cannot be established.

  • Introduction: Lipedema, a painful disease that almost exclusively affects women, leads to an excessive accumulation of subcutaneous adipose tissue, primarily in the extremities. Morphologically, it is characterized by hyperplasia and hypertrophy of adipocytes as well as by inflammation-associated cells and fibrosis. Limited knowledge exists regarding the background of adipocyte pathology. In the present study, we aimed to identify morphological alterations of lipedema adipocytes, which could cause functional implications in lipedema adipose tissue. Methods: Approximately 3000 adipocytes from nine lipedema and five control adipose tissue samples, originating from non-obese donors, were analyzed. The ratio of atypical nuclei (Lochkerne) in relation to the total amount of nuclei was assessed and compared between lipedema and non-lipedema samples. Results: Lipedema adipose tissue exhibits a significantly higher proportion of Lochkerne compared to controls (p=0.001). While 24% of adipocyte nuclei presented as Lochkerne in lipedema samples, only 3% were identifiable in controls. We further show that the process of Lochkern-formation involves the nuclear indentation by small lipid droplets and their subsequent transmigration through the nucleus towards the central lipid content. Conclusion: The significantly increased occurrence of lipoma-associated Lochkerne in lipedema adipose tissue compared to controls reveals that, from a morphological point of view, lipedema is a form of lipomatosis.

  • Lipedema is a lipodystrophic disease characterized primarily by a disproportionate increase in lower body subcutaneous fat. Although moderate weight loss decreases lower body fat mass in women with obesity and lipedema, it is possible that this decrease is due to a reduction in normal subcutaneous fat, rather than lipedema-affected fat. We evaluated the effect of moderate (11%) diet-induced weight loss on body fat mass and distribution, assessed by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry and magnetic resonance imaging, in a 56-year-old woman with lipedema who was normal weight (body mass index: 23.9 kg/m2) at baseline. Approximately 85% of the decrease in body weight comprised body fat. The relative reduction in upper body fat (abdominal subcutaneous, arm and trunk fat) was similar to the relative reduction in lower body (total leg fat and thigh subcutaneous fat). Accordingly, weight loss did not change the proportion of total body fat comprising leg fat (44.8% and 45.1% before and after weight loss, respectively) or arm fat (9.1% and 9.6% before and after weight loss, respectively). These data suggest weight loss decreases lipedema-affected adipose tissue and demonstrate the therapeutic effect of weight loss on body composition in women with lipedema even if they are normal weight.

  • Lipoedema is a chronic disorder primarily affecting women. Often mistaken for obesity due to its characteristic build-up of fat cells in the legs and sometimes arms, lipoedema leaves women vulnerable to social stigma. This study investigated the role of fears of compassion and depressive symptoms in the context of weight stigma and internal weight bias in women with lipoedema.

  • Background Lipedema is characterized by disproportionate gluteofemoral adiposity with anti-inflammatory properties. We hypothesized that this phenotype may confer immunological protection against T-helper 1 (Th1)-mediated autoimmunity ("Immunological Shield Hypothesis"). Objective The objective of this study is to explore whether women with a dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA)-defined lipedema-like phenotype, characterized by disproportionate gluteofemoral fat accumulation, exhibit distinct immunometabolic profiles and lower prevalence of celiac disease (CD) autoimmunity in a nationally representative sample. Methods The cross-sectional analysis included 3,833 women from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2011-2014. Celiac disease (n=11, 0.56% weighted prevalence) was defined by strict serology (tissue transglutaminase {tTG}-IgA+/endomysial antibody {EMA}-IgA+); lipedema phenotype was defined as leg-to-trunk fat ratio of >90th percentile via DXA. Results Women with celiac disease exhibited 7.4% lower gynoid fat (39.5% versus 42.6%, p=0.0007), persisting in overweight/obese strata. Conversely, the lipedema phenotype demonstrated superior metabolic health: 44.2% lower homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) (p<0.001) and 7.6% lower neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) (p=0.012). Conclusions This exploratory population-based analysis identifies phenotypic divergence in fat distribution between the DXA-defined lipedema phenotype and celiac disease autoimmunity, yielding observations consistent with, but not confirmatory of, the "Immunological Shield Hypothesis." While limited by the small number of celiac cases (n=11), a sample size insufficient to detect prevalence differences for a ~7%-9% phenotype, for which approximately 225-600 celiac cases would be required, the observed differences in gynoid adiposity (7.4% reduction, p=0.0007) and the favorable metabolic profile of the lipedema phenotype (44.2% lower HOMA-IR and 7.6% lower NLR) suggest biological plausibility warranting validation in larger, targeted cohorts. These findings motivate targeted studies to evaluate whether dietary exposures, including gluten-related immune activation, interact with gluteofemoral adipose biology in lipedema.

  • Background:  Lipedema is a progressive subcutaneous adipose tissue disorder predominantly affecting women. Characterized by painful nodules and inflammation, it impairs mobility and quality of life. Traditional nonsurgical treatments currently offer limited relief and necessitate additional interventions. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of SMiLE (Softening, Mobilization, Liposuction, Extraction), a lipedema reduction surgery (LRS) technique. This technique combines lymphatic-sparing liposuction with manual lipedema extraction to comprehensively remove lipedema nodules. Methods:  Sixty-two women who underwent LRS with the SMiLE technique by the primary author participated in the study and completed an online survey. Data were collected on prior medical history related to lipedema development and comorbidities and outcome measures such as pain, activities of daily living, and quality of life before and after surgery. Results:  The findings demonstrate significant improvements in patients’ daily lives following surgery. Pain levels decreased by an average of 73.9%, with the most notable reduction in the buttock shelf (81.3%). Mobility improved for 93% of participants who had faced challenges before LRS, and quality-of-life assessments indicated a 47.5% reduction in the negative impact of lipedema postsurgery. Conclusions:  The SMiLE technique offers an advancement in the surgical management of lipedema by enabling the effective removal of lipedema tissue. Alongside a reduction in pain and improvement in mobility, this method addresses physical and psychological burdens. This study suggested that the SMiLE technique could be considered an option as part of a comprehensive approach to treating patients with lipedema.

  • BACKGROUND: Lipedema is a chronic adipose tissue disorder with disproportionate fat accumulation in the extremities and is often misdiagnosed as obesity. Although women with lipedema appear to be metabolically distinct from body mass index (BMI)-matched controls, their fasting metabolism remains insufficiently characterized. We therefore aimed to define the metabolic signature of lipedema using serum NMR metabolomics and anthropometric profiling. METHODS: We conducted a study with 24 premenopausal women with lipedema and 21 BMI-matched controls. Fasting serum samples were analyzed using NMR spectroscopy and anthropometric data were collected. Regional body composition was additionally assessed in an exploratory matched DXA subset (n=12). To characterize coordinated metabolic differences beyond single analytes, we derived exploratory composite indices and applied multivariate analyses. RESULTS: Despite similar BMI, women with lipedema showed lower waist circumference, waist-to-hip ratio and lower fasting insulin than controls (age-adjusted p = 0.032). NMR profiling revealed lower alanine (p < 0.001), lactate (p = 0.004), pyruvate (p = 0.021), and elevated ketone bodies (3-hydroxybutyric acid: p = 0.009; acetoacetic acid: p = 0.035; acetone: p = 0.006). These alterations were reflected by significant group differences in composite indices for fat distribution (g = 1.26; p < 0.001), glycolysis (g = 0.74; p = 0.018), and ketone metabolism (g = 0.70; p = 0.018). Principal component analysis of the selected indices explained 78% of the total variance and showed partial group separation between lipedema and controls. CONCLUSION: Lipedema is associated with a distinct fasting metabolic profile characterized by reduced glycolytic intermediates, enhanced ketone body signals, and a more peripheral fat distribution despite comparable BMI. These findings support the concept of lipedema as a metabolically distinct phenotype and suggest that multivariate metabolic signatures may help refine future diagnostic and interventional approaches.

  • Review Article Background: Lipedema and advanced lymphedema are chronic disorders of adipose and lymphatic tissues that remain frequently underdiagnosed. Their coexistence poses therapeutic challenges, particularly when conservative management fails. Although international guidelines support surgical intervention in selected cases, real-world data from resourcelimited hospital settings remain scarce. Objective: To report the experience of a Moroccan tertiary university hospital in the surgical management of advanced lipedema and lymphedema and to compare clinical outcomes with current international recommendations. Methods: A retrospective descriptive case series was conducted between 2021 and 2024. Three patients underwent surgical treatment using tumescent liposuction or en bloc tissue resection with skin grafting. Postoperative outcomes were assessed clinically and through a structured quality-of-life questionnaire inspired by the SF-36, focusing on pain, mobility, and overall satisfaction. Results: All procedures were completed without intraoperative or postoperative complications. The volume of aspirated adipose tissue ranged from 2.1 to 4.0 L. One patient with advanced secondary lymphedema required surgical resection, with evacuation of 1.2 L of lymphorrhea. Postoperative satisfaction ranged from moderate to high, with reported quality-of-life scores between 5 and 8 out of 10. These findings are consistent with outcomes reported in recent international series. Conclusion: Surgical treatment of advanced lipedema and lymphedema is feasible, safe, and clinically beneficial, even in resource-limited settings. An individualized, guideline-based approach allows satisfactory functional and quality-of-life outcomes. Further prospective studies with standardized assessment tools are required.

  • Background/Objectives: Lipedema is a chronic, progressive adipo-fascial disorder characterized by connective tissue dysfunction, fibrosis, microangiopathy, and adipose tissue proliferation. Although lipedema has traditionally been described as a regionally confined disorder, emerging evidence suggests that it may reflect a broader stromal and connective tissue dysfunction. It is therefore plausible that anatomical regions not historically associated with lipedema may also exhibit alterations consistent with this dysfunctional stromal pattern. From this perspective, breast tissue-rich in fibro-glandular and stromal components-represents a compelling model in which to investigate whether such features are present. The breast, with its complex fibro-glandular and stromal architecture, represents a physiologically plausible site of involvement; however, its structural features in lipedema have never been systematically examined. The primary aim of this study was therefore to determine whether breast tissue-rich in fibro-glandular and stromal components-shows recurrent imaging or histopathological features suggestive of lipedema-related involvement. A secondary aim was to compare the frequency of these findings with patterns typically reported in healthy screening populations. Methods: This retrospective cross-sectional study analyzed 62 women (mean age: 44 ± 8 years), obtained between September and November 2025, with a clinical diagnosis of lipedema who voluntarily provided breast imaging reports (ultrasound, mammography, or magnetic resonance imaging, MRI). Results: The findings revealed a remarkably high prevalence of fibro-glandular parenchyma (45%), multiple diffuse cysts (42%), microcalcifications (21%), and fibroadenomas (43.5%), with frequencies substantially exceeding those documented in healthy screening populations. Additional features included significant breast asymmetry or tuberous morphology (6%), reactive or sclero-lipomatous lymph nodes (19%), and recurrent stromal hyperplasia on biopsy. Histological evaluations (n = 9) consistently showed fibroproliferative alterations, including stromal hypercellularity, adenosis, fibroepithelial lesions, apocrine metaplasia, and pseudoangiomatous stromal hyperplasia, suggesting a shared extracellular matrix-related dysplastic phenotype between lipedema-affected breast tissue and peripheral adipose tissue. Conclusions: These findings support the hypothesis that lipedema may express a characteristic breast phenotype driven by stromal and extracellular matrix dysregulation. If confirmed in larger controlled studies, these recurrent alterations could contribute to improved diagnostic frameworks and raise awareness of lipedema as a systemic connective tissue disorder with underrecognized breast manifestations.

  • Background: Lipedema is a progressive disorder of subcutaneous connective tissue, predominantly affecting women, and characterized by an increase in subcutaneous adipose tissue, particularly in the lower body. This study aims to explore the gut microbiota (GM) profile in lipedema patients to characterize the associated GM and compare it with the control group. Methods: A prospective randomized case-control pilot study was conducted from September 2023 to May 2024, involving 55 Caucasian women, aged 20-60. The participants were divided into two groups: 35 with lipedema (LIPPY) and 20 controls (CTRL). Body composition was assessed using Dual X-ray Absorbimetry (DXA), and GM analysis was performed through 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Results: LIPPY subjects showed increased Intramuscular Adipose Tissue (IMAT) and reduced Lean Mass (LM)/Fat Mass (FM) ratios. While alpha and beta diversity metrics did not differ significantly between groups, differential abundance analysis identified a significant reduction in Eggerthellaceae (Log Fold Change (LFC) = -0.19, p = 0.04) and enrichment of Propionibacteriaceae (LFC = +0.18, p = 0.009) and Acidaminococcaceae (LFC = +0.32, p = 0.013) in the LIPPY group. Genus-level analysis showed a significant reduction in Blautia and Ruminiclostridium (LFC = -0.32 and -0.02; p = 0.02 and 0.04) and enrichment of Anaerostipes, Propionibacterium, and Phascolarctobacterium (LFC = +0.07, +0.17, and +0.34; p = 0.02, 0.005, 0.005, respectively). In correlation analyses, within LIPPY, Eggerthellaceae correlated negatively with Body Mass Index (BMI) (ρ = -0.61, p < 0.05) and positively with Appenicular (Appen) LM/Weight and AppenLM/BMI (ρ = +0.43 and +0.41, p < 0.05), while Anaerostipes correlated positively with these lean mass indices (ρ = +0.40, p < 0.05). In CTRL, only Anaerostipes showed a significant negative correlation with BMI (ρ = -0.64, p < 0.05). Conclusions: This study provides the first evidence of a distinct GM profile in LIPPY, with notable links to adverse body composition markers such as IMAT.   • Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the clinical efficacy of transfer energy capacitive and resistive (TECAR) therapy in females with Stage 2 lipedema, focusing on limb circumference, pain, functional status, and quality of life. Patients and methods: A prospective, randomized controlled trial was conducted with 30 female patients diagnosed with Stage 2 lipedema between September 2024 and May 2025. Participants were randomized to a TECAR group (n=15; mean age: 52.7±13.1 years; range 39 to 66 years) or a control group (n=15; mean age: 45.9±12.9 years; range, 37 to 59 years). Both groups received compression garments and a structured exercise program. The TECAR group additionally underwent six TECAR sessions over three weeks. Outcomes included lower limb circumference, Visual Analog Scale for pain, Lower Extremity Functional Scale, and Lymphedema Quality of Life Questionnaire-Leg, assessed at baseline and at one and three months after treatment. Results: The groups were comparable at baseline for age (p=0.163) and body mass index (31.85±4.08 kg/m² in the TECAR group and 30.02±4.08 kg/m² in the control group; p=0.112). The TECAR therapy resulted in greater reductions in lower limb circumference compared to standard care, with a statistically significant and sustained improvement observed only in the supramalleolar region at three months (p<0.05). A significant short-term reduction in pain was observed at one month (p=0.003) only in the TECAR group, but this effect was not maintained at three months (p>0.05). Functional scores showed a nonsignificant trend toward improvement (p=0.058). The overall quality of life score improved significantly in the TECAR group (p=0.002), although no individual Lymphedema Quality of Life Questionnaire subdomain reached statistical significance (p>0.05). Conclusion: As an adjunct to standard care, TECAR therapy appears to reduce pain and limb volume and enhance overall quality of life in Stage 2 lipedema. Further long-term studies are needed to confirm these findings.
